Overview

As an Accountant for QuickChek, your key responsibilities are to perform professional accounting work, including auditing, analyzing, verifying, and preparing financial and statistical records and reports. Responsibilities also include providing information to finance staff regarding accounting practices and procedures, and reconciling general ledger accounts. The individual will also assist in preparing the company's month-end financial close and prepare year-end audit reports and schedules.

Responsibilities

Essential Functions and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

 

  1. Prepares journal entries and enters them into the ERP system.
  2. Prepares month-end variance analysis.
  3. Assist in monthly financial close.
  4. Distribute the P&L.
  5. Analyzes and reconciles general ledger accounts.
  6. Monitors revenues and expenses and records data properly in the company's financial accounting system.
  7. Complies to Sarbanes Oxley (SOX) controls and assists in quarterly SOX audits.
  8. Calculates and prepares reimbursement billing for receivables.
  9. Reconcile accounts receivable.
  10. Weekly ad-hoc report creation and distribution.
  11. Assists department personnel with budget questions, proper expenditure coding, document processing, and other accounting-related activities.
  12. Assist with the fiscal year-end closing.
  13. Perform other duties of a similar nature or level.

 

To perform this job successfully an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The areas listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.

 

  1. Must maintain excellent communication within all levels of the organization.
  2. Must be detail-oriented.
  3. Proficient in Lawson or similar ERP and other financial and accounting software.
  4. Working knowledge of and compliance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).

Qualifications

  1. Bachelor's degree in accounting required.
  2. One to three (1-3) years of general accounting experience.
  3. Lawson or similar ERP software experience preferred.
  4. Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications including Excel, Outlook, and Word.
