Overview

As a Network Administrator for QuickChek, your primary responsibility is to assist network administration in maintaining the full integrity and operation of all facets of the corporate LAN/WAN. This includes day to day administration of the Window Server environment (Vmware).  Provide administration and support for key server-based technologies including SAN/Storage, Windows Active Directory, local and remote file services, all store location networks and corporate firewall (Palo Alto). Assist in the deployment of security software, patches and virus definitions to policy standards. Also perform help-desk support level 2&3.

Responsibilities

Essential Functions and Responsibilities include the following.  Other duties may be assigned.

  1. Maintain all aspects of server environment including but not limited to Microsoft Windows Servers, Active Directory, DNS, DHCP, Exchange, SQL, etc.
  2. Responsible for the day to day running and maintenance of the corporate LAN/WAN.
  3. Assist Network Administrator in the development and implementation of all ongoing and future technological projects.
  4. Provide input and testing of new software and operating systems.
  5. Troubleshoot and resolve high level issues that require advanced technical knowledge.
  6. Performs all maintenance tasks assigned in accordance with company policy, adhering to high standards of quality.
  7. Responsible for monitoring all helpdesk issues assigned and track and resolve issues in a timely manner.
  8. Rotating on-call duties.
  9. Off hours’/weekend work will be required at times.

Qualifications

Qualifications:

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The areas listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.

  1. VMware Certifications
  2. Microsoft Certifications
  3. EMC Certifications
  4. Cisco Certifications
  5. A+ certified pc technician. Network + certified technician.
  6. Energetic and enthusiastic; ability to handle multiple projects with tight deadlines.

 

Education and Experience:

  1. Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or Information Systems preferred.
  2. Between six to ten (6-10) years' related experience in the following areas:
    1. All aspects of network WANs/LANs
    2. Vmware server administration, configuration, repair and troubleshooting.
    3. Advanced level firewall maintenance and troubleshooting.


Technical skills:

  1. In depth knowledge of Vmware server administration, vCenter, Esxi, and Update Manager.
  2. Ability to setup, repair and troubleshoot network routers, firewalls and switches.
  3. Enterprise Anti-Virus software(s)
  4. EMC SAN storage and backup software
  5. VOIP telephony
