Overview

Located in Whitehouse Station, NJ, the Channel Product Manager (Delivery) will be responsible for helping shape the delivery and mobile order strategy and drive all aspects of the channel for the QuickChek and Murphy USA businesses/brands. This includes vendor negotiations, customer experience, in-store and marketplace marketing / promo, and operational experience.This individual is driven by customer and competitive trends and will possess strong analytic, problem-solving/strategic thinking, and communication skills. This individual will have extensive experience working with third-party delivery providers, be familiar with delivery economics, and will be effective working cross-functionally to drive the overall performance of the channel.This is a role that requires strong collaboration across the organization and this individual should be comfortable working with Technology, Marketing, Loyalty, Category Management, Operations, Procurement, and the delivery partners to operate the channel and collaborate on strategic initiatives to drive its performance. This responsibility also includes identifying, defining, and leading roadmap initiatives from ideation through launch, and ongoing management.We are extremely optimistic in the growth potential for the delivery channel and mobile ordering, and are looking for a bold, ambitious thinker who has the ability to be hands-on.

Responsibilities

  • Daily management and oversite of channel performance and customer experience
  • Develop and monitor key performance indicators to measure channel health, success, and impact; interpret results and insights to identify opportunities.
  • Engage with delivery partners (e.g., DoorDash, GrubHub, UberEats, etc.) on both strategic and executional topics, including negotiations, marketing, and operational considerations – and continually explore and evaluate alternative providers.
  • Develop marketing and promotion strategy and coordinate closely with delivery partners, marketing, category managers, agencies, and operations to execute.
  • Assess delivery options outside of 3rd party vendors by defining options, functional needs to define experience, strategy and coordination with technology and operations within the broader context of a digital roadmap.
  • Work closely with category managers to source vendor funding for promotions
  • Monitor operational metrics that drive prioritization with marketplace apps and work with operations to improve performance on the most critical ones
  • Coordinate with delivery partners to maintain data set in app (menu, locations, hours, etc)
  • Collaborate cross-functionally (i.e., Merchants, Vendors, Accounting, Technology, Pricebook, Loyalty Vendor, Legal, etc.) and share information necessary to improve operational effectiveness and workflow efficiencies in support of delivery initiatives.
  • Collaborate with rest of product team and other members of the digital org to prioritize resource deployment across products and set a comprehensive digital roadmap for Mobile ordering and Delivery
  • Drive development and growth of all aspects of delivery and mobile ordering (e.g. identify key requirements for successful customer experience, define and execute sales growth strategy delivery, continually monitor and work with app developers to optimize the experience to increase sales, analyze app performance, return on investment and profitability, and make optimizations and recommendations based on learnings, etc.) – done in collaboration with the business, technology, and marketing teams (internal and external) to determine proper flow, depth and breadth of offer, etc.
  • Review and analyze consumer and industry trends, and the competitive marketplace. Utilize such insight, along with market research, customer feedback, and analytic findings, to identify opportunities to enhance the delivery experience – leading to higher penetration, frequency, and basket size
  • Develop materials required to support progress reviews and drive alignment across brand and executive leadership
  • Lead training and communication content related to the channel
  • Build and lead the third-party delivery team (as needed)
  • Perform any other related duties as required or assigned.

Qualifications

Required: 5+ years experience in product development/management, including working with or managing third-party delivery services and teams; has built or been an integral part of developing a partnership strategy/plan with a third-party delivery service (e.g., DoorDash, GrubHub, UberEats, etc.)Preferred: MBA or equivalent, broad knowledge of such fields as accounting, marketing, business administration, finance, etc.
