Overview

The Real Estate Development Manager will provide project management and technical support to the Real Estate Department, to develop new store locations in accordance with network planning strategy. This is an office-based, project management position which would be ideal for a site development professional who would like to move to the Tenant side of the process.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate the work of outside consultant team.
  • Schedule and facilitate all due diligence work.
  • Maintain project schedules and monitor critical paths. 
  • Assist Real Estate Managers in preparing development cost budgets
  • Provide technical support to Legal Department on contractual matters.
  • Assist in the design development of site plans and building elevations.
  • Attend meetings with reviewing authorities, including public hearings.
  • Attend monthly Real Estate and Construction meetings
  • Manage project files, schedules, and documents using Projectmates.

Qualifications

  • BS or higher degree. Civil Engineering, Landscape Architecture, Real Estate, or Architecture major is a plus, or demonstrable technical knowledge and experience in real estate development.
  • 2-4 years of professional experience in a multi-disciplinary engineering, architecture, landscape architecture, planning, or real estate development firm.
  • Comparable experience in retail development

  • Working knowledge of New Jersey and/or New York land use law and land development approval processes.

  • Working knowledge of site design, feasibility analysis, and site construction processes.

  • General knowledge of geotechnical engineering, environmental engineering, traffic engineering, or construction a plus.

  • MS Project, Projectmates, Power Point, AutoCAD - desireable.
