Overview

The Community Relations & Philanthropy Specialist will have responsibility for the planning and administration of all community relations and Philanthropy programs inside the QuickChek (QC) division, including QC in store round-up campaigns, corporate sponsorships, and donation requests, establishing, and enhancing partner non-profit relationships and development and execution of the employee volunteer program. This role will also be responsible for QC receptionist duties, including visitor check, badging, and receiving and routing incoming calls to the QC switchboard.  In addition, they will manage the annual QC Golf outing and other on-site fundraising events that benefit non-profits including the MEDRF (Murphy USA Employee Disaster Relief Fund.)  The Community Relations & Philanthropy Specialist will support the execution of MUSA's (Murphy USA’s) enterprise agenda regarding corporate philanthropy, rollout, and support of the giving platform, and lead the planning and execution of the QC annual giving week, as well as other projects as assigned.

Responsibilities

  • Successfully establish and enhance relationships & partnerships with local 501c3 organizations that align with MUSA and QC overall Philanthropy strategy and giving pillars.
  • Develop annual plan for instore round-up campaigns including setting annual fundraising goals, development of communication and execution plans for each campaign, create marketing assets to support each campaign. Actively engage QC sales and operations in determining timing and schedule of campaigns and fundraising goals.

  • Provide organization with weekly Philanthropy campaign updates and provide post campaign recap to both internal and partner stakeholders
  • Ensure accuracy of fundraising campaign totals, campaign check requests are created and processed, schedule and coordinate 501c3 campaign check presentation events and press releases. Will support all fundraising efforts.

  • Align QC round-up activities to support the enterprises overall objectives for instore round-up campaigns. (Boys and Girls Clubs national partnership)

  • Combine annual impact reports from each supported 501c3 organization, employee volunteer activity, corporate donations and sponsorships into an annual QC Philanthropy report and infographic highlighting the company’s community impact Assist in the development of community outreach programs and events.

  • Manage all QC corporate donation, sponsorship requests and established budget. Vets all requests through established MUSA scorecard and governance process, making special notations around specific requests that QC leadership feels strongly align with the QC brand. Responsible for creating check requests for approved corporate donations and sponsorships. Responsible for sending approval or denial decision letters / emails for all requests.

  • Manage QC employee volunteer program, responsible to planning, communication, and execution of annual volunteer activities. Provide ongoing opportunities that enhance engagement of support center and store employees though volunteer fun activities that make a positive impact on our local communities. Work in coordination with Corporate Communications to develop and maintain messaging for internal and external collateral.

  • Serve as the Director of annual QC Golf Fundraiser leading the Golf tournament committee. Responsible to ensuring governance process is in place in the event in compliance with Murphy Charitable Foundation best practice and guidelines. Responsible with presenting QC leadership with 501c3 recommendations for the event support charity each year.

  • Lead QC Cares Committee supporting support center activities including engagement opportunities, volunteer and on site 501c3 fundraising including NEED Fund – Cornhole event and QC giving week.

  • Provide professional welcome to all support center visitors during regular business hours, ensuring guests are greeted warmly and providing notification to support center hosts of their guest’s arrival.

  • Responsible for fielding, screening, and directing incoming phone calls to the front desk from the general public, customers and visitors, connecting incoming calls and inquires to the appropriate person or department

  • Work closely with support center team and NCC staff on customer service inquires.
  • Responsible for incoming package and mail receiving in coordination with the support center mailroom and shipping department.
  • Responsible for the deployment of the envoy visitor platform to screen and credential all visitors to the support center in coordination with the security team.
  • Responsible for the development and distribution of monthly visitor report. Responsible for providing administrative support to the support center departments as needed including assistance with separation notices, MEDRF grants, check requests.

  • Perform any other related duties as required or assigned.

Qualifications

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

 

Broad knowledge of such fields as accounting, marketing, business administration, finance, etc. equivalent to a four year college degree, plus related experience and/or training, or equivalent combination of education and experience.

 

 

SOFTWARE SKILLS REQUIRED

 

Intermediate skill levels in: Presentation/PowerPoint, Spreadsheet, Word Processing/Typing

 

Basic skill levels in: 10-Key, Accounting, Alphanumeric Data Entry, Contact Management, Database

 

 

DESIRED EXPERIENCE

 

  • Strongly prefer previous Philanthropy or non-profit experience.

  • Excellent interpersonal skills are necessary to facilitate work with a wide range of individuals.

  • Ability to juggle multiple projects and demonstrate creativity, flexibility, and proactive approach to work; attention to detail and strong organizational skills are essential.

  • Must be able to work with all levels within the organization, from entry-level associates to senior leadership.

  • Ability to be flexible with time as well as prioritize and manage multiple tasks
