Competitor Intelligence Specialist

This position provides competitive intelligence support to the Food & Beverage Department.  Coordinates, verifies, and organizes consumer market research and trends to help drive business strategies. 


  1. Monitors market conditions, trends, and competitors to project business sector or consumer demand and inform product launch timing.
  2. Research competitor behavior including marketing strategies, pricing, sales, quantity, materials, promotional activities, and methods of operation.
  3. Identifies purchasing behaviors, price or discount sensitivity, and brand loyalty across customer segments and sales channels.
  4. Simulates the impact of proposed marketing campaigns and measuring results against targets.
  5. Assists in coordinating and managing external vendors and contractors to gather, analyze, and report on market research data.
  6. Coordinates with Analytics to prepare research reports summarizing qualitative and quantitative research findings.
  7. Create and maintain database of historical promotions and sales, and ensure that this data is made readily available to the category teams
  8. Interact with outside vendors to explore new technologies as well as proven strategies for ensuring the development and progression of the Food and Beverage department needs.
  9. Perform any other related duties as required or assigned.


Broad knowledge of such fields as accounting, marketing, business administration, finance, etc. Equivalent to a four-year college degree, plus 2 + years of competitive intelligence experience or market research.
